Govt wants ISPs to record browsing history

So the government which proposed a national broadband network also wants to record all our browsing data? ... what's the best that 10 years later down the track they suddenly privatise all that data into the hands of some marketing folk? But hey, at least it might bring the budget back into...

    iPhone 4 - 4th Gen iPhone

I use iChat on my Macs to do video conferencing and agree that it is incredibly stable/high quality compared to say Skype video (from my limited experience with that) so I can see why wifi would be preferable... but then that being said, Apple reinventing the wheel is not exactly a great thing...

Rate this car: 2010 Mazda 3 MPS

Mazda 3 MPS... a car with massive amounts of power (190kW) going through the front wheels. My mate recently bought the new one and we went for a spin- it definitely feels like it pulls VERY VERY HARD and the stock tyres are surprisingly good for stock tyres. But then in the $40-50k hot hatch...

    sleeper

The only time I've ever seen a 'sleeper on a track' is where some guy rocked up to a track day in a seemingly stock Bimmer 520i which later turned out to have a 3L supercharged engine inside and massive chassis work.

    sleeper

Favourite sleeper atm is a K20A Jazz.

    sleeper

LOL thanks. And thinking about this thread a bit more, if the OP wanted a "sleeper" for track use (or maybe he's involved in those beat 'em up derbies? Destruction Derby anyone?), then you probably could get half cuts and written off cars for <$10k since they wouldn't need to be registered.

    sleeper

I think I misinterpretted your use of the word 'sleeper' then. I thought you were looking for something like a Corolla with a twin turbo engine or something to that effect.

    sleeper

So why do you want a sleeper then? You planning for it to be a one hit wonder on the track? I'd be surprised if you can get much with $10k.

    sleeper

I would save up more cash to make it a decent sleeper TBH

    iPhone 4 - 4th Gen iPhone

At least they do firmware updates which actually add new features. Yes they sometimes charge for it but that's hella better than Nokia which even when they do firmware updates (which don't add new features), they are restricted and not available to all countries- do you have any idea how...

    Drivetrain of Choice?

Driving an XR6/XR8? Agreed that with expensive tyres, it's just not fun wasting them away with burnouts and whatnot. Try SP600's :P

    Top 'speed' done and where?

I'd imagine some larger capacity cars may even become more fuel efficient at higher speeds (obviously not during the overtaking). That being said my fuel consumption live graph jumps off the scale when I accelerate... that's no fun.

    iPhone 4 - 4th Gen iPhone

Even though the features sound crap and Apple sounds like it controls it's systems/products too much... if you've seen my Nokia thread which is the exact opposite whereby there are HEAPS more features out of the box but they are buggy/crappy and Nokia's "open infrastructure" means their Ovi (aka...

    Most Disappointing Car

The premium models esp in the hatch are pretty snazzy IMO. But then if I was paying that much money I would probably look at other options (e.g. Rukus or maybe even a Prius) if I was really wanting a Toyota.

Only thing I don't get is what makes facetime so special? I already have used videocalling on 3g.... how can it get any er... different?

    iPhone 4 - 4th Gen iPhone

If they fix the multitasking issues which it sounds like they will, and the email works well for my needs, it looks like a yes. I'm over Nokia. Spent way too much cash on crappy phones which don't do what they should.

    Drivetrain of Choice?

I think when you have AWD you tend to just gun it harder than you would if you didn't.

    Drivetrain of Choice?

LOL I've never gone the bald route... but then I don't own a RWD car so I don't see any benefit to having balds on a FF or AWD. That being said I still remember my mate with balds on his CRX and he claimed to "drift" on roundabouts.

    iPad.

Tried it today at JB Hifi and found that it was really nice to play with and use... the screen and thinness make it really attractive. The E*Trade application was really effective and I felt made good use of the screen size and this would be a primary reason for me wanting one of these iPads...
