    Snow Leopard

Bought Snow Leopard today for $32 from JB Hifi (negotiated on price here!) and it's pretty good. My 20" iMac (Core2 Duo) feels a lot snappier but from what I've read on the net it's not truly 64-bit. Meh, either way it feels better. That, and I got 23.46gb freed up (from 187.85gb in Leopard...

Getting your Ps - Driver Ability Road Test (DART)

Reverse park = reversing into a spot Parallel = parking parallel to the street/kerb

    Decision time!

Guys, let's be careful before we confirm whether ABS is standard or not in the 2007 Corolla specified above. I'm basing my comment on which trim levels in the 2007 range have it from Car Prices - Search Car Prices & Values Online - Red Book which specifies the different trim levels. I think this...

    Decision time!

Typically most cars have ABS from the past few years but according to Redbook, it depends what trim level of Corolla from 2007 you purchased (e.g. was it the Ascent, Ascent Sport, Conquest or Levin?). From what I can tell, Conquest and Levin featured it as standard however it was an option on...

Getting your Ps - Driver Ability Road Test (DART)

Interesting.. back in 'my' day reverse parking wasn't in it either.

    Thanks- responded.

    The Coffee Thread

GJs is really only about their specialty drinks. And even they have varying degrees of quality sometimes (e.g. that Bounty iced chiller drink).

I need a new PC- What CPU to buy?! Intel Core what?

Is it just me or does Intel's naming conventions defy all normal logic? Gone are the days of just looking at clockspeed/price and picking a nice balance with RAM. Anyway, I have a Core2 Duo in my Macs and find that their performance is great for my needs when I run WinXP on it (surfing net...

Getting your Ps - Driver Ability Road Test (DART)

My tip (as noted in first post) is to try and disregard a lot of the bad habits you may have picked up recently such as driving too close or giving a very light glance over your shoulder (i.e. almost none at all) and coasting up to stop signs/intersections (as opposed to coming to a complete...

    Decision time!

^ I don't think that's ver helpful for the TC. Seriously keep looking, search online, or whatever. Just avoid the Barina. You're better off buying a 10 year old German car than that in terms of safety.

    Decision time!

Yeh avoid the Barina at all costs. Unproven reliability. Shit resale. And questionable safety credentials- the current model with extra airbags and whatnot was a bandaid solution to horrible press about the new Korean (aka daewoo rebadge) model which basically said that the new Barina had a very...

    The Coffee Thread

Wow you guys amaze me with your GJs/Starbucks/Maccas. I am very picky about my coffee- usually take 2 or so a day (working fulltime). It's definitely got to be a proper coffeeshop/cafe. I can easily pick a good or bad one and nothing ruins my day more than a poorly made coffee. One of the perks...

Sam Newman calls for 120km/h speed limit

Don't speed if you can't afford the fine then. How much is the fine anyway?

Sam Newman calls for 120km/h speed limit

Hmm... interesting concept. I see many flaws with this but it also makes sense.

At least it's back in European hands... hopefully something good will come of this!

Do you wear shoes at home?

Socks is fine. I don't wear shoes (like outside shoes) but I do wear sandals/thongs. Yes I'm asian. On another note, taking shoes off is sooo much more comfortable especially when sitting at the computer or on the couch. :D

Sam Newman calls for 120km/h speed limit

Should fines really be relative to the individual's wealth, income or value of the car?

    Ford F6 vs Ferrari 348

I'd still take an AWD porsche. I love the feel and stability offered by AWD... sure it's alot harder to invoke oversteer but for driving thrills on normal roads, the AWD feels alot better and helps give you that extra grip (and confidence) when you want to push on but stay within your lines...

Sam Newman calls for 120km/h speed limit

The thing is everyone speeds. I try to hold my tongue on speeding because I know even I do it sometimes... and admittedly it is very stupid especially during DD! Anyway did you guys see Boys accused of 124km/h in 60 zone ? Pretty exxy fine!

    does anyone not drink

Meh thought I might as well post here. I've stopped drinking alcy pretty much unless it's a corporate/work function, I'm taking my clients to a bar, or I'm at a social function at a bar. In each of those cases I keep my drinking to 1 standard drink or 2 tops. Apart from that, I don't drink at...
