ITT: The training we have taken to be safer on the roads.

Ahh I see. It's probably a very different experience for bikes purely because they can't sit with you in the car and point at the apex and say "PULL HANDBRAKE NOW! FULL THROTTLE! GO GO GO GO! STEER AWAY!! NOT TOO EARLY... CATCH IT.... NOW!" THat being said, all driver training in controlled...

ITT: The training we have taken to be safer on the roads.

You'll find that most training (at least in my experience and what I read) is a combination of driving with an instructor, and DIY experience on the track in a wide open area. So when you say you want a full 8 hours, I think what you'll want is a bit of instruction in an environment where there...

    Most ANNOYING things when Driving

True but the majority of non-cyclist car-drivers out there see them as being one and the same.

    What Cars does everyone drive??

Race ya? ps. You serious? Good to see a fellow BComm student picking out a nicely riced up ride.

ITT: The training we have taken to be safer on the roads.

What are you trying to get out of it? If you want defensive driving, go for defensive driving courses typically intended for new drivers. If you're insured directly with AAMI (and not a subsidiary like Just Car) I believe it's free of charge and you get a discounted premium later on. Those...

ITT: The training we have taken to be safer on the roads.

Thanks for the prompt. Yep I was at HART back in high school. Not sure how useful the program was but it was still a good day out.

Is that from Top Gear? I think they were talking about the CAMS equivalent.

ITT: The training we have taken to be safer on the roads.

I did the classroom session thing offered by Honda back when I was in high school (the one where they sit you in an MDX and brake at different speeds to show you braking distance). Recently I did the MRT skidpan day but honestly speaking, it's more about learning how to control your car...

    Most ANNOYING things when Driving

Maybe you aren't as bad as others but there are always those who weave in and out of traffic at high speeds which do force us to brake. Maybe it's not obvious to you guys on cycles but as car drivers, it's prudent and only natural (if something suddenly swipes in front of you) that you slow down...

    Most ANNOYING things when Driving

It's annoying when they do it in a careless manner which causes other drivers to have to make sudden braking maneuverers to avoid an accident. I don't mind them moving forward during traffic, but this is on the presumption when they get to the front of the queue, they move quickly when the...

    Most ANNOYING things when Driving

It amazes me that sometimes people don't realise you've flashed your lights and gestured... oh well, they'll live and learn.

    Most ANNOYING things when Driving

Just remember that doing so will waste considerably amounts of petrol. Better to just leave it at a set speed on cruise control :) And if they're tailgating you, just set it to a lower speed (after braking a bit).

    Most ANNOYING things when Driving

TBH I think that's more because they waited to let you in, and then because as an L plater you may have taken too long and they got impatient. That being said, you're an L plater and they should respect that you are trying to learn. I also agree that I hate people in general who don't understand...

Worst car on the road today?

I quite like those new utes from Holden/Ford even though the HSV/FPV models do defeat the purpose a bit. Btw I don't know if Getz and Yaris should be in same category lol.

Worst car on the road today?

Most performance or luxury-oriented cars have some degree of disabling stability control usually via a button on the dash. Even the Aurion has a way but it's a lot less convenient than the others (requires some complex foot pedal sequence from memory). I've had driver training with stability...

Worst car on the road today?

U mean like those idiotic P Plater kids who turn off stability control because they think they know better? Agreed. I don't feel compelled to turn it off in everyday driving.

Worst car on the road today?

Seriously check out the NCAP results videos on youtube. I'm sure they're up there. Another thing, not sure if you've ever sat in one but try closing the door. Even on the cheapo model it has a nice solid thud which is considerably nicer sounding than my Civic or Lancer. Comparable to a German...

Worst car on the road today?

You'd obviously compare like with like... you'd pick the equivalent Holden (or HSV) for the same money. This was on the other presumption of one-car only.
