    Cadetships 2008/09

Re: Cadetships 2007 Sorry for the ambiguity but it will differ depending on each firm, and honestly speaking, I haven't received trainee grant yet since I'm still full timing BUT; The trainee grant is only paid for the months where you are full time studying. This means for the times you...

    Accounting firm - promotions

Yes accountants get bonuses in Big4. This applies to various grades- not just partners. However, at trainee/graduate level, bonuses aren't given out to everyone; it depends on the firm and there could be processes involved to be eligible or to apply.

Anyone see the crash near Central Stn on Fri nite?

I'm pretty sure the people inside the SL would be fine. Not sure about the others- I only arrived after the cleanup crew had arrived and so on... and saw the smashed SL in the intersection.

Anyone see the crash near Central Stn on Fri nite?

Just wondering if anyone saw it... I've seen that SL55 around- even memorised the numberplate. "12". Such a waste of a beautiful car.

    Accounting firm - promotions

Each firm has a different way of promoting... but it depends what you're aiming to be promoted to. At the lower ranks (i.e. Trainee, Grad, Snr, Manager) there are various levels within each rank depending on experience. Those promotions are considered automatic but the pay increase will vary...

    Cadetships 2008/09

Re: Cadetships 2007 Don't forget the importance of colour coordination with your outfits. I've seen some people in the city wearing the orange bags given out earlier in the year.

    Lame Holden "transformers"-style adds...

Sorry for the ambiguity; I meant the following 1. Pontiac is finally using the Australian platform as a basis 2. The previews make it sound as if America has never had a "muscle car with practicality" hence why I was quite surprised... 3. Since Holden is clearly doing something right with...

    Lame Holden "transformers"-style adds...

I heard Holden's new Commodore is forming new underpinnings for some Pontiac sedan which is considered practical for daily use... where have they been for the past 10 years in America? o_O But yes Holden does export their vehicles to various countries now so at least they're trying to get into...

    Lame Holden "transformers"-style adds...

Either way it's still a shockingly bad advertisement. I still don't get why anyone would want to buy a Holden car which can transform into a bicycle. Is that their attempt at combining Transformer/Citroen-'transformations' with environmentally-friendly images?

    Lame Holden "transformers"-style adds...

... just saw it on SBS (whilst watching South Park) and realised it was very very very lame. Sigh.

    Those Magnetic Number Plates

You're supposed to cut the bottom bit off if you've got the shorter plates (I have them too).

    Cadetships 2008/09

Re: Cadetships 2007 LOL... a USB drive? But some firms hand them out to all staff anyway (e.g. us)... Meh. Whilst it's important that you guys get your offer in a nice way, I should hope you guys aren't reliant on the freebies which were bundled with the contract as a key deciding factor.

Re: Cadetships 2007 Make sure you guys bring this to HR's attention because you'll want to sign the proper contract which is 100% correct. I can't really give an explanation as to why/how it happened.. but just bear it in mind and contact HR asap regarding this. ps. Glad to hear you guys...

$$ - aka What is your Traineeship Remuneration?

lol... considering the textbook allowance is like.. $500... and if you're doing 2 subjects the books cost you <$200... why double dip for $400 p/a and risk looking like a cheapass if you get caught? ... not to mention making your future expense claims more likely to be scrutinized!

    Economic Driving

Hmm... good point. *shrugs* I know it also has an effect on reducing wear on the brakes (my uncle told me that) but it probably is such an insignificant amount... anyone else shed any light on this?
