josh who? i know/knew a few joshes at my school. true that selective schools do give competition. however, i think it also puts more stress on students (particularly for those who don't work well under pressure - they shouldn't really be there anyway).

by using 12:10am as *low tide*, i got 4:12pm as the earliest time. earliest time is 4.02 hours after low tide at 12:10am. and (i think) the latest time is 10h 32m after low tide i.e. 10:42pm.

just on "clearing wall" questions.... i did a couple of those from fitz. and got them right, but how do ensure that the particle clears the wall and doesn't just touch it? e.g. if a wall were 5m from the origin and 5m high, u can't just sub in (5,5) into the path equation to find the...

yea. coz some guys in my class went through the whole "integrating from first principles" process when they were asked to prove that dN/dt was a solution of N in a "Newton's law of cooling" question....waste of time (and they didn't get the answer anyway) so i guess the best way is just to...

i think (but u might want to check with some other guys too) that if you make a transcription error either from the paper to the booklet or within the question, u won't get marked down as long as it doesn't make the question easier to solve. that's only in the hsc exam though. as for internal...

cambridge and fitz. are often harder than hsc exam questions. e.g. the questions in fitz. for "newton's law of cooling" are much harder than the generally basic ones in the hsc exam.

i always push myself as hard as i can....even at pius. i've got some pretty good competition, despite it being a non-selective school. however, there are probably only about 5 people who give a lot of competition in each subject (currently). the rest are good, and they're close behind but...

for now, i'm only talking about term 4. coz in term 4 we have hsc assessments, but we haven't actually got our hsc exam results back yet. but if my 2U mark is good, i'll keep it but also try 4U. if i stuff up 4U, i'll revert back to my 2U mark and stick with 3U.
