    Commerce: UNSW or Sydney?

Honda badge = Asian FTW? jkjk. I don't think there's "racism" in the recruitment process. In my intake, there was a good balance, and even amongst the various divisions I've been exposed to, there's a decent balance... and then there are also a lot of people who are seconded/transferred over...

    Cadetships/Traineeships- which uni?

When I was studying ACCT1511 (Accounting and Financial Management 1B) and ECON1102 (Macroeconomics), I was doing 6 hours per week (each subject had a 2hr lecture and a 1hr tutorial). However, if you are studying ECON1202 (Quantitative Methods A), on top of the 3 hours per week, there is also...

    Nokia N93 vs. N80 vs. N73 vs. E70

N90 (IMO) had serious issues- most noticeable was the lack of vibration mode. However, it was the first in the line of what I call "concept phones turned reality" from Nokia. As shown above, the N80 photos look quite good but I think without autofocus, it does limit their usefulness in the...

    Cadetships/Traineeships- which uni?

I thought I'd start this thread because I've received numerous emails, PMs and phone calls regarding uni preferences for those studying on a cadetship/traineeship in Accounting... and this way there are plenty of other people out there who can post their opinions/experience/recommendations...

    The whole 0.999...=1 argument

From memory, this is year10/year11 maths (depending on your school) so if you haven't learnt it yet, it'll come soon enough :)

To anyone who's seen the new 007 Casino Royale...

Hypothetically... what would happen if he couldn't afford to buy the stock because it had risen exponentially (instead of dropping)? Wouldn't that mean people bought shares which he could not sell as he did not ever have them?

To anyone who's seen the new 007 Casino Royale...

Thanks guys. Just to confirm my understanding is correct... short selling is where you sell something before you have it right..? and that you make your money from the difference between what you sold it for initially, and the amount that you buy that stock for after it drops in price?

FINS1612 or FINS1613? Which one to take? Or both?

I am having trouble figuring out whether I want to do FINS1612/1613/both! 1612- seems important since it's an introduction, and I'm thinking of doing a finance major. 1613- compulsory for CA so I need to do it regardless; but I worry that I might not go so well if I don't have time to attend...

To anyone who's seen the new 007 Casino Royale...

... can you please explain to me the whole "stock manipulation" thing with Le Chiffre? WARNING: THREAD CONTAINS SPOILERS I wasn't paying enough attention and I think I missed something... I didn't quite make the connection between how the insider knowledge of selling just before the attacks...

    Nokia N93 vs. N80 vs. N73 vs. E70

Definitely. I'm not a fan of the SE interface normally (as I've posted many times), but I'm a huge fan of s60 in general. I love it, and with the new 3rd edition, there are heaps of improvements over the previous s60 phones I've owned (3650 and 7610). However... the only thing which really...

    Nokia N93 vs. N80 vs. N73 vs. E70

I think in general, Nokia phones aren't very good at taking photos compared to SonyEricsson. Even with Carl Zeiss backing the lens, with or without AF, the photos aren't as nice looking as the SonyEricsson K800i when there isn't sufficient light (ie. indoors/night time); not to say that the...

accounting cadetships - good or bad?

To topic creator, if it helps, I can send you my notes from QMA (quantitative methods A) which'll show you pretty much what maths is involved in UNSW's ECON1202. PM me your email addy and I'll get in touch.

    Nokia N93 vs. N80 vs. N73 vs. E70

Got it for my sister's Christmas present. That photo came out really well IMO. Considering there's no AF in the N80 (one of the reasons why I figured N73 > N80; and that my sister would probably use camera much more than wifi), that shot is really nicely done. Do most of your N80's photos...

    Nokia N93 vs. N80 vs. N73 vs. E70

Thanks for all the tips guys. Ended up buying both N93 and N73 since they were both pretty good phones. The N93 is going very well- the camera isn't as good as I thought it'd be (it only works at it's best with decent light), but it's still better than most, and the video (for a phone) is...

    Choice of commerce major

Just thought I'd add- there's probably a good reason you can't do Business Law as a single major at UNSW (verify?). I know I haven't done much Biz Law at uni yet, but from what I saw in LEGT1711, it seems very "light" and more aimed at informing us of what the legal world involves and giving us...

Wat's the advantage to combine Commerce with Law?

My guess would be Commerce is the safe/secure option which isn't so risky- hence that for the parents.
