accounting cadetships - good or bad?

If it helps you prepare a bit, try NOT to forget the basic differentiations/integrations. You don't need to remember much from high school, but remembering how to do those two things will save you a lot of trouble trying to re-learn it in a 1 hour lecture.

That's Singapore Dollars... sorry, should've posted AUD. 1aud = approx 1.2sgd... previously it used to be pretty much 1:1. My cousin sold his Skyline- but also note, we live in Malaysia (not singapore) :) Singapore is much more strict with the emission requirements, 10 year rule (you can...

Haha... so many people supercharged their e46s... I don't think I have a photo of the guy with "Real 520i" on his car- when it's really a 520i with a 3L engine (or was it 3.5) which has been supercharged. Sleeper? And the CLK DTM was driven by a chick. That's what surprised most people!

accounting cadetships - good or bad?

In the real world accounting you won't need anything special for maths (general will be fine), but in uni, maths is quite challenging if you haven't done 2u Advanced. You'll need to know your calculus for sure.

    Accounting Skills Q

LOL I was exaggerating a bit- but there are some times where you'll be put in a room which was used for storage, with no air cond and poor ventilation, only one power point, maybe a dusty table, small window, etc... but for the most part, you won't get that- and if you do, it's more of a reason...

I'm surprised you didn't mention no skylines either (these cars are not allowed in Singapore anymore as they didn't meet emission requirements). As for rotary... there are very few RX8s in Singapore- they aren't popular. The reason Evo and STis are popular is because they are considered "cheap"...

Took these photos on my recent trip to Malaysia... Enjoy! http://picasaweb.google.com/jace.88/Sepang Also note, most of the cars here are Singaporean (ie. JDM models)- hence the speedos. [Note to Ciel] Yes there are EuroRs. And in response to your Q, no I don't know what the diff's...

accounting cadetships - good or bad?

I think the obvious question which needs to be emphasised is- if you don't like accounting, then why pursue a career in accounting or an accounting cadetship?

    Summer "Vacation"

At least you get to see what working at the firm/company is like- this way when you go to apply for a grad spot later on, you can say you know what to expect.

Applying for cadetship and doing full time studies

    1. Around April/May firms will start sending out advertising/information packages to schools, and there will also be the ICAA's function where you meet alot of people from the firms and can ask questions/etc... Applications are usually due mid-June (note: this can vary so keep checking the...

    Summer "Vacation"

I'm also under the impression we're supposed to make use of the vacationers :P But then, that post about surfing the net- I suspect it's because they're doing their induction training? I still remember the sexual harrassment videos... lol

accounting cadetships - good or bad?

Just as a note- that's not what a cadet does. That's what a corporate accountant or accounting clerk does :P I do agree that the work exp gained in say retail is valuable- any experience will be beneficial. But I don't think you can underestimate the knowledge gained from being a cadet- I'm not...

    Choice of commerce major

LOL... pretty much everything you said there affected my decision in some way; what would make it harder is if we had to prioritise them! For the time being I'll just c+p your list and remove the irrelevant ones; - graduate salary - future salary in general - career prospects -...

    Accounting Skills Q

It all depends on the client really. In cases where it's a huge huge client for example, then as a junior, you will probably only be dealing with corporate accountants and whatnot. Even the managers+ don't really spend that much time dealing with the CEOs/Directors; they only interact as...

    New phone dilemma...

I just feel awkward using SE... that, and my experience with the w800i has been very problematic even with firmware updates (ie. keeps on resetting, didn't display sms properly, etc..) As for N95... i'm in malaysia atm, and they have the "sample" models available (ie. dummy phones). It's not...
