    CFO differences in countries

Gotta admit this topic was worth a few laughs though.

    CFO differences in countries

ROFLMAO @ the guy who was "CFO" of a small coffeeshop. That's like my cousins who give themselves interesting titles like "Finance Director".

    EY or PwC?

Oh I didn't mean that as an insult to BDO/PKF/mid-tiers. I was actually implying that if the poster was so shallow minded to think Big4 is only for people who couldn't get into something else, then he might have similarly worthless opinions regarding the large mid-tiers.

The Ultimate Decision of my Life.

LOL indeed. What's the point of a cadetship or coop if you fail the HSC :) Btw please do post what firm you choose to sign with! If you have any Q's regarding cadetships @ PwC, feel free to post here; or PM/msn me (it's in my profile). (I wonder if I met you at the mocktail function last...

Accounting & Finance triple major OR Accounting major

Maybe the majors themselves don't require that much study so that's how you can fit in a triple major easily? *shrugs* Sounds hectics!

The Ultimate Decision of my Life.

If he follows the same thinking that I did- then it'd be the thousands more applicants who may have gotten better results than you would've in uni. It's not the UTS bit which I was referring to... Yes there are a lot of people who pick up jobs this way; but what coud go against the person...

    EY or PwC?

The irony is that a lot of people who bag out Big4, couldn't make the cut :P jkjk. Seriously though, Big4 probably isn't the best/most suitable for everyone; but some people do actually aspire to work there. I wanted to work in Big4 ages ago, and now that I got my chance- I took it. Not...

The volume knob on my car stereo broke

I'd also try to find some kind of substitute, or see if you can just "live with it". Later on you can always change your deck. Or if it's a newer model, try asking shops/retailers/suppliers/manufacturer for a replacement knob? (Maybe it's under warranty!)

The Ultimate Decision of my Life.

Seriously don't follow that advice. That's the easiest way to piss off a lot of people. Also makes you a bit of a loser for not being able to make up your mind and not being able to stick to your word (ie. contractual obligations). As for what redruM said, that's true too; but not all...

    EY or PwC?

Temptation to flame rising. Some people actually want to work in Audit in a large accounting firm because of the knowledge/training you receive. And honestly speaking, I'm quite happy with where I am. I can only imagine what kind of crap you'd say if someone wanted to work in PKF or BDO.

    Cadetships!

I think there are a few people who did Economics with a major in Accounting- but it comes down to what each individual firm will allow. Also make sure you check CA Pre-reqs.

    auditor general

Big4. That was a no-brainer. All the talk in recent years of how much budget cuts the Auditor General have had and then their attempts to woo people into joining cadetships.... well, didn't even need to make me think twice answering that. Oh, and I also happen to like my current job :)

The Ultimate Decision of my Life.

Firstly, congratulations on receiving such great offers! You must be an excellent candidate. In case anyone says I'm biased- I am. I'm on a cadetship and I'm enjoying myself. Yet to do any of the mundane stuff people promised me- that is, I'm yet to do any coffee making or photocopying...

Haven't heard of the Mac Bank one before... is it a public thing or only available to special people (maybe they run a competition *shrugs*)... ... and congrats on MS Sydney West. I remember saying hello to Nicole and Stewart. I also have a friend who works there~
