    Trouble enrolling MATH1231

Agreed. Speak to Dr Trenery, or the course-coordinator for MATH1251 to get the prerequisite waived. If the school of maths won't enrol you, get a signed letter to show that the prerequisite has been waived, then you can take it to the relevant program authority.

    New Course?

Possibly. Liberal arts is in the works, from what I gather. I doubt it'd be ready for 07 entry however.

BIOS1201 - How did you Study?!

I remember I got 94, back in the day. (only for the report, that is)

    general UNSW chit-chat

May as well pimp my election. Any of you that are science students, or enrolled into a combined science program, please vote for myself (Timothy LI) and my friend, (Jacky HO). We are both running for Science Faculty Board. http://www.webvote.unsw.edu.au Thanks! And about Mike...

    Math 1141/1151

Thought I might point this out. Just because the lecturer says so, doesn't mean it's correct. The lecturer is simply, a lecturer, and at most a course-authority. They do not constitute a program authority, which says what you can or cannot do. In Commerce/Science the program authority is...

    b.sci(adv)/arts

Yes, there is an Advanced Science/Arts program. If you wish to transfer, please note that the Science Faculty only does the following internal transfers: - Adv Sci --> Sci - Medical Sci --> Sci - Sci/Arts --> Sci - Adv Sci/Arts --> Sci - and maybe some I can't think of (rule of thumb is if...

    How hard is Actuarial Studies

Agreed. Actuarial is more about hard work than anything else. Yes, a bit of talent and intelligence helps along the way, but even the smart ones still have to work hard.
  9. T

B Science (Advanced) and B Science

Yes. UNSW science is trying to further differentiate the Adv Sci from the normal Sci stuff. Carl - should you be posting that stuff?? Is is from the Faculty Board?

    Fire! Fire!

Speaking of fire, fire, does anyone know what happened last Friday at uni? Up on the access rode from the Botany St Gate, between Matthews and Samuels. It was cordoned off, people were also evacuated. I counted three NSW police vehicles(one Rodeo, one Falcon, one Commodore lol), three...

    Past micro midsessions

Sorry everyone, I only logged onto BOS just now. A little too late I guess. I hope the midsession wasn't too bad. Next time, email me, it's more reliable. Go to my profile and click the email function.

    Past micro midsessions

I would post up my sample mid-session from 2005 ECON1101, but it's probably too late now, seeing as the exam is tomorrow. Good luck to all!!

    general UNSW chit-chat

Nancy, are the academic board ballots via post? Not online? And guys, vote for me for Science Faculty Board (for those in science or combined science programs)!
  15. T

    Science Subjects

HPSC is a science subject. The only restriction is in the Science/Arts program, you cannot major in History and Philosophy of Science for the science component

    general UNSW chit-chat

Airness: that would be difficult. Theres a lot of stuff surrounding the campus, the hospital, the racecourse, Barker street is a boundary and Anzac parade. Lots of residential zones too. Sure, UNSW has many 'campuses' if you count the little safehouses in Randwick etc. but its not one large...

    general UNSW chit-chat

So we want to add an extra train line - Surely that would place more strain on the rest of the network; and you already train-dependent whingeing folks will suffer more? In theory, a train line would be nice. In practice, it's not easy. For starters, where are they going to put it...
  18. T

    general UNSW chit-chat

Building a train line is not cheap. Who's going to pay? Great, we could have a train line linking Cronulla, Brighton and Maroubra. Sounds like a plan to me.

    Science Subjects

Something like BIOS1201 or FOOD1120 is relatively straightforward.

    Laser Printer Toner

Just get a new toner. I have two of the exact same printer, and we always just use a new toner. That way you can maintain quality. And besides, its not that expensive - each cartridge lasts a while!
